Managed IT use Interxion’s data centres that offer state-of-the-art facilities for equipment housing our managed services platforms and hosted servers.
Maintained round the clock by highly trained staff, Interxion’s data centres are designed and equipped to the highest industry standards – raised floors, automatic fire extinguishing equipment, AC and DC power distribution, and uninterruptible power supplies (UPS), backup generators and multiple redundant fiber connections to all major carriers. The Equipment Housing service is highly flexible and can is designed to meet our specific needs.
Equipment Housing Standards
Guaranteed power
Availability of power is essential. Each data centre has full power backup in case of an outage. Generators, in combination with UPS systems, guarantee maximum availability. Interxion’s industry-leading Service Level Agreements (SLA) defines the level of guaranteed availability, ranging from 99.9% to 99.999%.
The following power options are available.
- AC power voltage 230 Volt or 400 Volt (32 or 64 Amp)
- AC 230 Volt power breakers: 16 or 32 Amp
- DC power voltage: 48 Volt, DC power breakers of various sizes
Temperature control
All Interxion’s facilities are equipped with redundant cooling equipment. Down-flow cooling units guarantee maximum cooling for our equipment. Room temperature is maintained at 18 to 25 ºC with a humidity level of 40% – 60%.
Security
Every Interxion Data Centre is equipped with a state-of-the-art security system to prevent unauthorised access to our equipment. With proximity cards, typically combined with biometric readers and mantraps, access is limited to authorised personnel.
Building management systems
All Data Centre related equipment, such as cooling equipment, electrical systems and fire control systems, is monitored around the clock. All events are controlled and procedures are in place to react to every possible incident 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, year round.
Fire protection
All of Interxion’s Data Centres are equipped with fire detection and gas-based fire suppression systems as a first line defence against fire. Argon, FM-200 or CEA is used across Interxion’s facilities. (The type of gas used depends on the local fire regulations.) These systems are automatic and monitored continuously (24 x 7). All buildings are equipped with hand-held CO2 fire extinguishing systems, as required by local fire regulations.
For additional protection from fire, Interxion is using a Very Early Smoke Detection Alarm (VESDA) system. In the unlikely event of a fire, this system immediately informs Interxion staff about the presence of smoke so they can take appropriate action.
